Owner, Trainer and Instructor - Kelly Marriner-Smith:
With over 15 years professional experience, Kelly Smith presents a strong background and outstanding credentials.
As a professional horsewoman, Kelly's experience is well rounded and includes training, coaching and showing at every level, from Futurity Hunter Champions to the Grand Prix Ring. Some of Kelly's career highlights include being named the 2001 World Champion Hunter Rider and winning the
2002 Legacy Cup.
Kelly believes that a strong foundation with an emphasis on solid equitation and overall quality horsemanship directly relates to success in any equestrian discipline. Kelly has proven the success of her program time and again with numerous Medal Finalists, USEF and Regional Association Year-End Champions and Horse of the Year Awards. Some of Kelly's fondest championships were accumulated at such prestigious shows as: Capitol Challenge, Lake Placid, Cleveland, Legacy Cup, Menlo Charity, Pebble Beach, Thermal, Country Heir, Chagrin Valley Farms...
Assistant Trainer and Instructor - Fred Lackman
Fred Lackman and Kelly Marriner-Smith grew up competing against one another. Ironically, their paths would cross several times without notice. Both Fred and Kelly grew up competing on the Northern California 'A' circuit, working under the tutelage of the same professionals and practically being neighbors. It wasn't until the summer of 2011 that they would finally meet and see how compatible and complimentary their experiences and professionalism would be. "Fred is an outstanding teacher, a true team player and a welcome addition to my program". Welcome Fred!

Kelly Smith operates her training program at the historic
Lake Oswego Hunt in the heart of Lake Oswego, Oregon.
The facility offers numerous beautifully maintained arenas, as well as a grass jumping field, riding trails and a track. The facility also offers traditional as well as oversized box stalls and ample all weather turnouts. In addition there are well lit grooming areas, well appointed, heated tackrooms, restrooms and viewing areas and a convenient laundry facility.
Lake Oswego Hunt provides an individualized equine nutrition program that includes the highest quality feed and supplemental care.
Lake Oswego Hunt and Creekside Show Stable work closely with industry leading veterinarians, farriers and equine health specialists to ensure that each horse is monitored for peak performance, health, soundness and happiness.
